Join Janie who is a former Client, now mother and author who is legally blind for this fun and informative workshop! Children and parents are welcome to join her in a short dance party followed by her explaining what it is like being disabled in our modern world. Janie will teach attendees how to read in braille with a blindfold on and explain the different technology she uses every day (electrical magnifying glass, recorders, e-books, cash readers, and even writing equipment. At the end of the workshop, each child will get a chance to walk with a cane blindfolded and explore what life is like without sight!
